Tips

Summary: This Tip is designed to help an organization understand and comply with the City of Seattle land use, zoning, building, and fire code requirements for transitional encampments. Transitional encampments provide temporary quarters for sleeping and shelter. Transitional encampments include tent encampments, tiny house villages (see Note) and safe parking lots for recreational vehicles (RV’s). Transitional encampments may have common food preparation, shower or other commonly used facilities separate from the sleeping quarters.
