This classical example of a colonial revival house was designed in1917 by Joseph S. Cote. His client was Dr. Albert S. Kerry, a member of a prominent local family. The house remained in the Kerry family until 2001.
Joseph S. Coté specialized in finely-detailed Colonial and Georgian residences. He accompanied W. Marbury Somervell of the New York firm of Heins & La Farge to Seattle as his assistant in supervising construction of St. James Cathedral. Originally from Quebec, Coté studied architecture at Columbia University. He was the principal designer of the Perry Apartments on First Hill (destroyed), the original Swedish Hospital building (destroyed) and the Sunset Club (1915-15). He returned to Seattle following World War I service, and continued his architectural practice, primarily doing residential commissions.

The side elevations have six-over-six sash with quarter round windows flanking the shimney in the attic. |
