This structure is currently derelict but once functioned as a duplex and the two units are addressed as 3422 and 3424 Wallingford Avenue N. It appears the structure functioned as a duplex from a point early in its life. The house was built in 1909 according to the King County Property Record Card (c. 1937). The original owner, designer and building are not known; however, it appears to have been in the possession of Mabel Paul in 1930. Union Federal Savings and Loan acquired the property in 1941and Leonard Griesel purchased it in1972. The current owner of the property, the Avtech Corporation, has operated at the former site of Grandma's Cookies at the corner of Wallingford Avenue N. and N. 34th Street since the early 1970s.
The siding and trim work were completely replaced at some point between 1937 and 1959, permanently altering the appearance of the house. The configuration of the porch and much of its detailing must have been modified when the building was resided. A metal fire escape has been added since 1959, and several windows appear to have been replaced or covered.
