This house is an excellent intact example of vernacular interpretation of the Queen Anne style, sometimes called folk Vicotrian. It is important for the information it offers about the development of vernacular housing in Seattle and it contributes to the historic streetscape. (reference: Sanborn Map 1904-1905)
 
Appearance
This house is a traditional vernacular hosue form elaborated with simple but eccentric Queen Anne detail. Basically a very plain gable front house with sparse windows, the focal point of the façade is a shingle balcony with arched spindlework that frames an attic window/door. The full width hipped roof porch is supported by pairs and trios of slender classical columns set on balustrade made of beveled siding to match the house. Windows are one over one double hung sash and the front door is horizontal paneled with a single upper light.
