Historic Name: Unknown Common Name:
Style: Arts & Crafts - Craftsman Neighborhood: Central Area
Built By: Year Built: 1909

Significance
This house is one of a cohesive row of early 20th century vernacular dwellings built in 1908 and 1909 by Z. A. Harrison. The houses are important as a unit because they enhance our knowledge of residential development in Seattle and the evolution of vernacular architecture. This house contributes to the historic streetscape of the north side of the 200 block of 17th Avenue South. Sarah Lippman acquired this house in 1931.

Appearance
This vernacular house is an expression of the Craftsman style the details of which are overpowered by an oversized, square, hipped roof dormer in the center of the façade. Otherwise, the house is a side gable cottage with road roof, open eaves and exposed rafter ends. The full width, inset porch is supported by classical columns. The house was clad in asbestos shingles sometime before 1956. The house is a variation of 204 17th Avenue South.
