This is a good example of late 19th/early 20th century vernacular architecture. It contributes to our knowledge of the architectural and residential development of Seattle. It contributes to the historic streetscape.
This house appears to be one of a builder's development along the west side of the 100 block of 23rd.

| Appearance |
| This is a local interpretation of the Queen Anne style, which is one of three variations located at the northwest corner of 23rd and Yesler Way. Much of its original detail is obscured by asbestos shingle siding and boarding over the windows (the house is vacant). The focal point of this house is the corner tower, which rises above the inset corner porch. It is adjacent to a full height gabled cutaway bay.
