Significance
In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
This building is a rare surviving example of a late 19th century vernacular storefront. It enhances our knowledge of commercial vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and serves as a reminder that this intersection was a neighborhood commercial center ca. 1900. This block is not mapped on the 1893 Sanborn but this building does appear on the 1904-1905 map. In 1937 it was a meat market.
 
Appearance
This 26' x 47' frame storefront has a gable roof obscured by an oversized false front or "boom town" parapet. It has a clapboard façade but the rest of the original siding is covered with false brick asphalt siding. The storefront has been altered but the original configuration is discernible.
