Significance
This 2-1/2 story house is a good example of the Craftsman style used in a sizeable and imposing structure rather than the smaller cottages and bungalows that are more common. It was built in 1911. The original owner is not known, but the primary owners were John and Pauline Hewitt; he is listed in the directory as treasurer of the University Club. They purchased the hose in 1918 and remained here until the 1940s. Through the 1950s-60s it was owned by Mrs. Geraldine Dennison.
 
Appearance
This side gable house is 2-1/2 stories high, with deep eaves with extended rafter tails and knee brackets and stickwork in the front gable end. Cladding is wood shingles, with a string course running below the gable ends. The west elevation has a large shed dormer with a bank of five windows. Windows are predominantly 6-over-1 and 8-over-1 sash, arranged singly on the second story, with three in each gable end. First floor windows are unusually tall and narrow, mostly arranged in groups of two or three. There are small one-story wings on the north and west, and a semi-attached garage
