Historic Name: Golden West Garage Common Name: Belltown Service Center
Style: Vernacular Neighborhood: Belltown
Built By: Year Built: 1919

Significance
This two-story brick building was built in 1919. In 1937 it housed the Golden West Garage, offering both repairs and vehicle storage and parking. As a two-story garage, it was probably one of the primary auto-oriented buildings in the vicinity when it was first built. Judging from the large windows, it may have even been an auto dealership at one time, an unusual use for this neighborhood. In 1951 it was altered for office use by the American Red Cross, with stucco cladding and new windows and doors. The second floor windows were reduced to about half of their original size.
