Historic Name: Unknown Common Name:
Style: Commercial Neighborhood: Central Area

Significance
In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).
This tiny building is the only intact example of a neighborhood service station in this survey area. The auto repair shop to the west of this building was built about 1920. Additionally, on the rear (north side) of the lot were six frame garages for automobile storage. This complex of buildings enhances our knowledge of early 20th century transportation developments. In 1937 this was Lewis Sands' Texaco Station and the property was owned by Alexander Newler.

Appearance
This one story metal service station is rectangular (approximately 15' x 30') with a service aisle, which projects to the north. The aisle is supported by two square pillars. The roof is hipped, originally being covered with metal tile. A similar substitute material now covers the building. Also on the property is a two bay, rectangular auto repair garage. It is wood frame. The auto storage garage mentioned above have been demolished.
