The one story brick building was built in 1926, and was remodeled with the addition of a free-standing service station kiosk in 1946. The building makes a small well-designed block with tile details and a tile roof. It is irregularly shaped, fitting into the eastward curve of Rainier Avenue. The storefront at 5022 Rainier Avenue S. contained a dry-cleaning business during the late 1930s and early 1940s. The owner, Ray T. Sherwinn, owned the entire block.

| This one story commercial building is of masonry construction and is supported by a concrete foundation. The building has an irregular plan and a flat roof with terra cotta tiled eaves. The building is clad in brick and features tile trim. Brick piers separate the window bays. The brick has recently been painted black. The bays, originally containing expansive plat glass windows with transom windows above, have been covered with vertical board siding or contain modern windows and garage doors. The building originally featured a small, partially connected building that covered a gas pump. |
