Significance
This house embodies the distinctive characteristics of a vernacular Queen Anne cottage. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle. It also contributes ot the historic streetscape. The house appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn but 20th Avenue in this block was not open on the 1893 map.
 
Appearance
This is a ubiquitous vernacular house form but there are a few remaining in as original condition as this one. It has a hipped roof primary mass with a prjecting front gable. The side entrance porch was originally supported by turned posts with spindle balustrade, which is now missing. The bay front has corner brackets and the gable end is clad in wooden shingles. Windows are wide one over one double hung sash.
