This house was erected in 1922. It was designed and built by the owner, H. Reinertsen, who listed his address as 5903 Fremont on the building permit. A garage was added to the site by builder Glen F. Ernst for owner W. H. Thayer in 1923-24. Donald C. Petrie and his wife owned the property in 1934. A new garage was built in 1969 by Robert Hansen according to the permit history. Hansen apparently only acquired the property in 1972. At some point since the house was surveyed by the Assessor in 1937, an eyebrow window was removed form the west facing slope of the roof, Tuscan columns that once supported the entry portico were removed and replaced with paired wood posts, small windows were removed from either side of the chimney at the south elevation, and a window box was removed. Permits indicate that the kitchen was remodeled in 1992 by Nancy Miller and Eric Petrie. Nancy Miller appears to have become the sole owner in 1997.
