Significance |
|
This house is one of a cohesive row of early 20th century vernacular dwellings built in 1908 and 1909 by Z. A. Harrison. The houses are important as a unit because they enhance our knowledge of residential development in Seattle and the evolution of vernacular architecture. This house contributes to the historic streetscape of the north side of the 200 block of 17th Avenue South.
Jack Calderon acquired this house in 1928.

Appearance |
This vernacular house is a repition of 210 17th Avenue South. It is a simple expression of the Dutch colonial Revival style and because it was originally shingled was an acknowledgment of the popular Shingle style. Front and side gambrels are unembellished. The full width inet porch has a false open eave with exposed rafter ends and is supported by classical columns set on balustrade which matches the house. The house is now clad in vinyl. |
