Adjacent to Groce's home (1733 24th Avenue), this house was built on his parcel for family members. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of residential development in Seattle and the history of the African American community.
It does not appear on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map.

| This house is a traditional one and 1/2 story gable front form embellished with single Craftsman details. Knee braces decorate the open eaves and shingles cover the gable. It appears that the full width, hipped roof front porch has been partially enclosed. Set high above 24th, the house shares a common stair with 1733 24th Avenue. |
