This building is an outstanding early 20th Century fire station with architecture unique in South Park. It appears that the City of Seattle acquired this property in 1909.
 
Appearance
This fomer fire station is a one story, irregularly massed, brick structure. It rests comfortably on a prominent corner in a residential area. It is characterized by Flemish parapets, arched dormers and decorative brick pattern. A prominent paneled garage door is entered off Tenth Avenue. Windows are six over one wooden sash. (Refer to Jim Stevenson's nomination of Station #12 - submitted to Seattle LPB 3/2/1992).
