This is a very good and detailed example of a Craftsman bungalow, with a gabled roof with prominent brackets, a combination of materials, and leaded windows. The Craftsman style was perhaps the most popular style in Seattle, and elsewhere in the country, between 1905 and 1920. This house, built in 1921, is quite late for a Craftsman, as the romantic revival styles became more popular during the 1920s.
Its original owner and builder are not known, but it was purchased in the late 1930s by Allessandro Sumbardo, a salesman for the Keystone Paper Box Company, and his wife Helen. Helen remained here after her husband's death, until 1971.

| This 1-1/2 story Craftsman bungalow has a low-pitched side gable roof with a gable dormer on the front. Both have prominent knee brackets. The dormer has a three–part window and a small porch with a wood balustrade set into the roof over the entry. Cladding on the first floor is clapboard, with alternating wide and narrow bands of wood shingles on the gable ends; a wide belt course separates the two materials. The full-width recessed porch has a slightly arched opening and two tapered wood columns on clapboard bases; the balustrade has plain square balusters. The porch has two three-part windows with transoms of beveled leaded glass in an arrow pattern. The west side has a similar leaded glass transom, along with two smaller leaded glass windows and two one-over-one windows on the second floor. All windows have wide wood surounds with ears. A secondary entry is at the southwest corner. The garage is located below the house on the west side; it was built before 1938 and may have been original in 1921. |
