This house is interesting for the unusually fine detail that was applied to a traditional gable front vernacular cottage. It offers us insight into South Park's late 19th Century housing and contributes to the hisotric streetscape. Harry E. Rude purchase this proeprty in 1922. The house appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map.
 
Appearance
This house represents the gable front one & 1/2 sotry vernacular dwelling that characterize late 19th century South Park. It has a full width hipped porch supported by chamfered posts and an asymmetrical entrance. This house has an unusual feature in its pedimented window heads. Windows are one over one double hung sash. A small shed dormer has been added to the east side and there are rear additions. This house contributes to the historic streetscape.
