Significance
This house is one of a cohesive row of early 20th century vernacular dwellings built in 1908 and 1909 by Z. A. Harrison. The houses are important as a unit because they enhance our knowledge of residential development in Seattle and the evolution of vernacular architecture. This house contributes to the historic streetscape of the north side of the 200 block of 17th Avenue South. H. K. Chinn acquired this house in August of 1924.

Appearance
This vernacular hosue is an expression of the Craftsman style but lacks open eaves with exposed rafter ends. Its closed eaves flare slightly. It has a hipped roof with hipped dormers on each elevation. The house is wood shingled with wide one over one double hung sash. The extra porch is inset in the southwest corner and is supported by a single classical column. The interior brick chimney rises through the roof of the northern dormer.
