This is one of Queen Anne’s most elaborate examples of the Georgian Revival style,andf appears to be largely unchanged. The house is of notably high quality, and the 1938 Tax Assessor information particularly noted the marble and tilework and the mahogany cabinetry. It was built in 1928, possibly for Halford A. Stoms, owner of Piggly-Wiggly Stores, and his wife Bessie, the first known owners. From 1939 until 1966 it was owned by Charles D’Amico, the president of Western Optical Dispensary, and his wife Dorothy. Later owners included Edward A. Finsness, president of Transamerica Title Company (1960s-70s) and Timothy Patterson (1970s-80s). The current owners have lived here since 1986.

| The house sits high above the street with a high retaining wall and vegetation making it difficult to see clearly. It has a side gable roof with deep eaves with modillions and returns. Cladding is red brick with buff brick quoins. The entry is through a two-story gabled bay that projects about twelve feet. The front door is wood and glass with leaded sidelights, having an elaborate terra cotta surround with a modillioned cornice and fluted pilasters. Above the entry is a pair of large arched French doors edged with buff brick and opening onto a wrought iron balcony. Flanking this are two dormers, each with two arched nine-over-one windows. The north elevation has a small two-story gabled wing (lower than the house) with six-over-one windows on each floor. The south elevation has a flat-roofed wing with decorative brickwork along the top and eight-over-one leaded windows. The west (rear) elevation is fully developed and more visible than the front, looking over the large garden. It has a two-story gabled bay with a leaded Palladian window, flanked by two gabled dormers with arched six-over-one windows and a small shed dormer. |
