This house, with an unusual castellated entry, was built in 1923 by contractor D. J. O'Callahan. According to the building permit, he also designed the house. The first identified resident owner was Sherley Rhea, secretary/treasury of the Fidelity Abstract Company, a lawyers and realtors title insurance company. He and his wife Grace purchased the house in 1929; she remained here after his death, until the late 1950s. The current owners, the Lloyd family bought the house in 1959. Joseph R. Lloyd, Jr., owner of Lloyd's Heating Oils, and his wife Margaret.

Appearance
The most notable feature of this house is the round entry porch with a castellated roof, supported by fluted columns, in the center of the front façade. The house has deep bracketed eaves , a shallow hip roof and stucco cladding, all typical of the Prairie style. The form is somewhat unusual, with the partial second story situated near the center of the first story, rather than to one side. Windows on the front have leaded glass upper panes in a geometric pattern appropriate ot the Prairie style; those on the other elevations are one-over-one or fixed pane. The west elevation has a square suspended bay. A rather dramatic projecting rounded bay with large diamond-paned windows covers the southeast corner. Below this is a two-car garage.
