Significance
This 1910 building is part of what was the last remaining industrial complex of the many that once existed on the Belltown waterfront. The concrete building was constructed in 1910 and in 1938 was the Norhwestern Paper Box Company. In 1955 it was purchased by Henry Kotkins, owner of the Skyway Luggage Company, which occupied several buildings in the vicinity. In the early 1960s it was remodeled for Skyway and the distinctive Skyway logo was added to the south façade. The company still owns the building but no longer uses it for manufacturing. The building has been significantly altered twice. In 1938 it had large expanses of muli-light windows, which were replaced in 1964 (with the transoms filled with concrete) and have been replaced and modernized again in recent years.
