This is a classic example of the Norman French style, harkening back to medieval precedents with a semi-enclosed space with a square tower in the center. It was built for George C. Miller in 1931and has the steel casement windows that were popular in mansion-type homes of that period. These houses are on unplatted land that developed considerably later than the original Capitol Hill plats. Like 22nd Avenue E., Galer has outstanding mountain views and developed with grand houses such as this one. , 22nd Avenue developed with many fine houses like this one.
 
Appearance
This house has a gable and wing form with two-story square tower in the corner. Cladding is brick in shades of red and browns. The roofline is complex, with a steep (2-1/2 story) clipped gable main volume and a gables wing at the north end. To the south of the tower are two small gabled dormers. The entry, with a large arched red door, is in the center, just south of the tower. The first floor has two pairs of steel casement windows, with additional ones in the gable end and the dormers; the tower has a narrow arched leaded window.
