In the opinion of the survey, this property is located in a potential historic districe (National and/or local).

This 3-story brick-clad apartment building was constructed in 1929, according to the 1937 King County Assessor property card, in the Uptown neighborhood. The building is known as La Charme Apartments. The building was built and designed by M. Leder for West Coast Realty & Investment Corporation. Leder also completed the Sea View Apartments and Lola Apartments. Soon after the building was completed, it was purchased by Judge Kenneth Mackintosh in December 1929.

 
Appearance

Constructed in 1929, the La Charme brick veneer clad apartment building clad is located at the southwest corner of W Roy Street and Fourth Avenue W. The building is a 3-story apartment building with Tudor Revival details. The building has a flat roof with parapet. The L-shaped building stands on a poured concrete foundation and its brick veneer is laid in the stretcher bond. The northeast corner of the building is angled and houses the main entrance. The main entrance features a wood, one lite French doors with leaded glass sidelights and transom. Shield stained glass emblems are present in the sidelights. The entrance is recessed and marked by a cast stone flat arch door surround with finials. Two extant wood, leaded glass windows; center fixed pane flanked by two narrow fixed panels. Flag and shields in stained glass. Tudor Revival details on the building include cast stone panels and lug sills. All the building’s remaining windows have been changed to vinyl windows.
