Summary for 2116 4th AVE / Parcel ID 0696000015 / Inv #

Historic Name: Speed Roberts Auto Repair Common Name: Dean's Transmission
Style: Commercial Neighborhood: Belltown
Built By: Year Built: 1929

Significance
This 1929 building was one of numerous auto repair garages then in the vicinity. However, it is one of the few that remains in its original use today. It is of concrete construction with a façade of brick and cast stone, typical for auto-related buildings, due to concerns about fire safety. In 1937 it housed Speed Roberts auto repair, with other auto uses in the northern storefronts. The storefronts have been somewhat altered, the transoms have been covered with wood and the garage doors replaced.
