The City of Seattle has an outstanding variety of firestations representative of popular styles and the works of the city's prominent architects. This one is a handsome Mediterranean Revival building built at the height of construction activities in the Edes and Knight, Renton and Squire Park plats which it served. While it is a departure from the typical frame Queen Anne, Craftsman and Neoclassical style residences in the community it does demonstrate the popularity of romantic revivals and substantial public buildings in the early part of the century. Further, the building contributes to the historic streetscape and works well with the Church of the Immaculate Conception complex to its north on 18th Avenue.

All of the arched bays are hung with slatted wooden gates. Windows are six over six double hung sash with segmental arch window heads façade windows have masonry keystones.
