This historic property was identified in the 1997 HRI; however, based on field work conducted in September 2014 it has been demolished and is no longer extant.
This property is associated with the residential and commercial building boom in Georgetown which occurred between 1890 and 1916. Fueled by the construction of the Seattle Brewing and Malting Company’s new brewing facility after the turn of the century and the arrival of foreign immigrants, especially German and Italian, Georgetown came to rely more on its commercial and industrial bases rather than agricultural. With the increase of industry and business, Georgetown had grown in population from 1,913 in 1900 to approximately 7,000 by 1910 as families located themselves near its factories and other places of employment. The original owner/builder of this house (one of three adjacent and very similar cottages) has not been determined. In later years, it is known to have been owned by Louis (and Delia) Banchero who resided nearby (7323 Duwamish (Airport Way South)) and worked for the Denny Renton Clay and Coal Company. Louis Banchero may be directly related to Antonio Banchero who is associated with the Siena Grocey (GT017) and a distinctive residence (GT067) on Carleton Street.

| Appearance |
| A generally intact however altered example of a hipped-roof vernacular house type. This small house type was commonly constructed throughout the American West during the later half of the 19th C and the early decades of the 20th C. This example exhibits distinctive design features and historic building fabric associated with popular architecture design modes during the late 19th C: a distinctive one-story cottage form accentuated by a slightly bellcast/flared hipped roof, a typical cut-away front porch and a combination of original tall, narrow double-hung and cottage type windows. The house is currently clad with asbestos shakes laid over the original rustic siding and board skirting. It includes modest features drawn from the popular late 19th C. Queen Anne design mode: spindle work porch ornament and flared eaves. The footprint of the principal portion of the house is 24’ x 36’ and includes a small one story rear wing with porch An original front entry door appears to remain in place. Exterior alterations of note include the likely removal of spindle work from the front porch, however a significant portion of the central brick chimney with corbelled cap remains in place. A narrow garage with gable roof and clapboard siding is situated behind the house at the alley side. |
