This Craftsman house is of rather unusual design, with a shallow side gable roof with deep eaves and prominent brackets. The clipped gables, most common in 1920s revival houses, are somewhat unusual in this period. The house was built in 1913, possibly for Arthur Folts, a sales manager at Sunset Motors, and his wife Faye. The original permit is not available, so the builder and architect are not known. Folts added a detached garage in 1920. It appears to have had only three owners since. Robert Wakelin, a salesman at the Washington Shoe Company, and his wife Minnie lived here from 1933 until 1966, followed by Dale and Vauneva Greenwood. Greenwood was the executive director of the Washington Railroad Association, and they lived here from the 1966 until 1994.
The house seems to be largely intact, except the large first floor window has newer multipaned sash, with the original wood surround.

| This Craftsman house has unusual siting, as it is set back from the street at an angle on a three-lot parcel. Much of the front yard is the driveway, accessing the detached garage at the north end of the house. Accordingly, the house has no porch, but only a stoop with two small steps and a small hood with carved brackets. The house has a side gable form, with a shallow clipped gable roof and very large knee brackets. The major window, to the south of the entry, is a newer 20-light window covered by a shed roof with decorative brackets. The second floor has three pairs of casement windows, one with a small window box above the entry, one to the south, and a smaller pair to the north. The first floor has smaller casement windows. The south end has a square shed-roofed bay. |
