This group of six small houses is significant as a fairly intact example of a cottage group near Ravenna Park in the University District. It has interest from an urban design standpoint as an unusual early example of a group of small cottages along a central courtyard. Other groups of cottages were built in the Ravenna Park area in the early part of the 20th century. They may have been built to accommodate the number of students living in the area. These cottages were built in 1918 by owner E.B. Holmes and architect/builder J. Chapman. The cottages are located on several separate lots.

| Appearance |
| This series of six single-story residential vernacular cottage houses are situated on the either sides of a central courtyard and pathway. Each of the cottages varies in appearance, with several different roof types including hipped and gabled. Most of the cottages are clad in clapboard siding, with some wood shingles below. The cottages retain much of their original integrity. |
