|
The Bull House was constructed about 1904. Floyd Bull had arrived in Seattle the previous year. Frye and Bruhn meat packers hired Floyd Bull to work as a timekeeper and later promoted him to superintendent. In 1904, Floyd and his wife Minnie acquired four vacant lots in Rainier Beach, constructed a house, by the end of the year moved in, and would remain there until World War II. In 1907 the US Bureau of Animal Industry hired Floyd Bull as a meat inspector, a position he would hold for 30 years. In 1943, after he retired, Floyd and his wife moved to the Queen Anne neighborhood.
The Bull House appears to meet City of Seattle Landmark criteria due to the age of the structure (over 100 years old) and minimal alterations.
