|
This house is an interesting example of vernacular architecture as affected by economic property. It is a large, rectangular box form exaggerated by quirky roof lines, Queen Anne details and classical elements. Thus it embodies the distinctive characteristics of a folk Victorian. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and because it and its setting contribute to the hisotric streetscape.
Sam Fischer purchased the property in 1931.

The front porch has a steep hipped roof and is suppored by slender classical columns. The house is clapboard with one over one double hung windows. The house became a duplex sometime prior to 1937. |
