Summary for 1010 E Lynn ST E / Parcel ID 191210-0840 / Inv #

Historic Name: Du Bois, A. B., House Common Name:
Style: Arts & Crafts - Craftsman Neighborhood: Capitol Hill
Built By: Year Built: 1915

Significance
This Craftsman house is somewhat unusual for its brick-clad first floor and porch with brick piers. Craftsman details include the multipaned windows, gabled dormers, knee brackets, wide window and door surrounds and wide belt course running below the front gable end and reflecting the gabled roofline. The current windows are replacements with a different configuration that the original ones, but they are compatible with the house's style and age. The attached brick-clad garage pre-dates 1937. Both the front porch roof and the garage roof have deck areas. Although it is in a single-famiy area, the house appears to have been used as a duplex in the 1960s. Little is known about the house's history, but it appears to have been owned by A. B. Du Bois in the 1930s.
