|
This house embodies the distinctive characteristics of an American Foursquare. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and because it and its setting contribute to the historic streetscape. This house and its companion apartment building (214-216 21st Avenue) are also important for the information they offer regarding early 20th century multifamily housing.
This house appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn. David Dow owned this house and the adjoining apartment building early in the century.
