This finely designed house dates from 1898. The house itself, its overall appearance, siding, the placement of the windows and the detailing, appear to have changed little, since it was built. The house is one of the more finely detailed and reasonably intact examples of the houses that once filled Cascade as well as South Lake Union. This is also one of the few remnants of single family housing in Cascade. It has a significant presence in the neighborhood and contributes to its identity.

| Appearance |
| This is a two story house, with a pyramidal roof and clapboard siding. Its main plan is almost square and there is back addition to the north. A distinctive element is the hipped roof of the porch, which runs along the south elevation and off which is a gable roof, under which are two of the short wooden Tuscan columns that support the entire porch. The south facing gable, decorated with a carved ornamental motif and the placement of these two columns seem to “announce” the main entry door. |
