This prominent house was constructed in 1910 for Harvey A. P. Myers, a Superior Court judge. Myers was one of several judges living in this immediate neighborhood at the time. It remained in the Myers family until the 1940s. Owner since then have included J. C. Raborn (1940s), H. A. Cain (1950s), Richard Black (1960s) and Brian and Jennifer Bossesman (1990s). It was built and designed by George F. D. Hughes, a Capitol Hill contractor who remained in business from at least 1910 into the 1930s. The house is large and well-sited, making it a prominent feature of the neighborhood. It is largely intact, although a one-story addition was built on the west end in 1955.

| This is a large house has numerous Craftsman charcteristics, and some Tudor influence in the half-timbering. The house is set back on a large lot, with a circular driveway. Cladding on the first floor is clinker brick, with wood shingles on the second floor and stucco with half-timbering in the gable ends. The foundation and water table are concrete. The house has a side gable form, but with a large 2-1/2 story gabled bay to the east of the main entry. All the gable ends have deep eaves and knee brackets. The second floor flares slightly, in the Craftsman style, with a belt course below. The relatively small entry porch,at the center of the main façade, has a gabled roof with two square posts sitting on a rustic wall of river rock. The oak door has strap hinges and sidelights of beveled leaded glass. To the west of the entry are three 8-over-1 windows; those on the second and third floors are similar, with some casement sash as well. On the south end of the main elevation is a large shed roof dormer with two 8-over-8 windows. The west elevation has a large hanging bay with three windows. The east elevation has some newer windows. The rear (south) side has a projecting corner bay at the southeast corner and a second -floor porch with an iron railing. Two brick-clad double garages are to the west. |
