The wading pool and footbridge and small stone garden are significant as specifically designed landscape features within the context of the Cascade Playground, designed under the Works Progress Administration. They are also significant, along with the “comfort station” structures to the northeast of the Cascade Park, because of the association with the Seattle School District as well as with the Works Progress Administration. (See Entry for 031 and 031B, C & D)
 
Appearance
At the southwest corner of the park is a kidney shaped wading pool. Close to the southwest corner at the edge of the wading pool is a low footbridge. Behind the little footbridge is a grouping of stones, placed below an evergreen tree. On the northeast facing side of the footbridge is a small metal plaque explaining that the area is due to the work of the “Works Progress Administration 1938-1939.”
