Significance |
|
This house was built in 1902 according to the King County Assessor Property Characteristics Report (accessed 2005) and the King County Property Record Card (c. 1937). Nyberg and Steinbrueck identified this residence as a structure significant to the city that warrants further evaluation for designation as an historic landmark (Nyberg and Steinbrueck assign this building the date of 1895). The house appears to have been substantially remodeled when a one story addition was attached to the back (east) end of the house early in its life. The addition appears to have been in place for some time when the house was photographed by the Assessor in 1937. The original owner, designer and building are not known; however, the house appears to have been owned by Ed McGinitie by 1932. It was acquired by Philip A. Lofurno and his wife in 1972. One of the current owners purchased the house from Jody L. Silverman in 1988. The lot on which the house stands appears to have recently been short-platted.
