Constructed ca. 1920, this one-story building fronts Taylor Avenue N and faces west. The site slopes slightly downward from north to south. The building abuts the sidewalk along Taylor Avenue N and has a paved parking area to the east with alley access. The curb cuts for garage access remain along Taylor Avenue N. The building has a rectangular plan.
A gable roof with perimeter parapets and supported by wood trusses shelters interior spaces. The parapets slope upward at the east and west ends following the roof pitch. Metal flashing caps the parapets. Asphalt composition shingles clad the roof. Skylights extend along the lower portion of the north and south roof slopes.
A concrete foundation supports the unreinforced brick structure. Header bond occurs every seventh course. On the front facade, a soldier course band bounded by projecting stretchers extends along the top of the first story and serves as a header for the window and door openings. A similar band also wraps along the top edge of the parapet.
Windows on the front facade consist of 20-lite metal sash units with the lower middle eight lites set in an awning sash to allow ventilation. A window opening remains in the upper portion of the roof gable on the front facade. All window openings feature rowlock brick sills.
The rear east facade features a former window opening in the south end with a rowlock brick sill. The rear east facade features a large, round arched louvered vent in the upper portion of the roof gable. This opening features a load bearing rowlock brick arch with row lock brick sill. The opening provides ventilation for the original open interior volume.
Front entrances consist of two large garage doorways with flat headers flanked by window openings. Rear entrances consist of two large garage doorways with flat headers. Smaller personnel doorways flank the openings.
Alterations include infilling of a window opening on the rear facade, new garage doors, and adding ventilation units in the former window openings on the rear facade. All brick surfaces have been painted. An added sign on the front facade covers the upper window opening. The building’s electrical power connection is mounted to the front facade at the south end. The north front garage doorway has been infilled to provide a window opening with paired sash and a personnel doorway.
