This is one of numerous houses in the vicinity built by Frederick J. Davidson. Davidson, a skilled carpenter, came to Seattle from Canada in 1903 He established himself as a contractor and built more than 150 houses between 1910 and 1929. Most were of brick, and were noted for high quality construction and features such as hot water central heat and adequate electrical wiring. Many of the homes were pre-sold,and he also built custom homes. Construction cost for this home was estimated at $6,000.00. The Georgian Revival was one of the most popular home styles in Seattle during the 1920s, and it appears to have been particularly common on Queen Anne. This example has a more solid appearance than most others, with dark brick, a relatively oversized portico, and wide cast concrete window surrounds. The first owner is not known, but in 1931 it was purchased by Edward M. Heflin, a manager at Frederick & Nelson, and his wife, Eleanor. Mrs. Heflin lived here after her husband's death, until 1968. Later owners included J. G. and Barbara Koller (1960s) and John and Barbara Cooper (1970s). The current owners have ben here since the 1980s.

Appearance
This is an ornate example of the Colonial Revival style, with a hipped roof, symmetrical façade and red brick cladding. The roof has deep eaves with brackets. The gabled portico, in the center of the main façade, has a pair of tapered posts of painted brick and a balustrade with turned balusters of terra cotta or cast stone. The entry has a paneled door with leaded glass sidelights, and is flanked by large fixed-pane windows. The second story has two four-over-one leaded double-hung windows; these are flanked by larger eight-over-one windows. Similar leaded windows are found on the other elevations. All windows have prominent white cast stone sills and surrounds. A carport and sundeck were added in 1963.
