This stucco-clad builder’s Tudor is one of a number of houses built on Crescent Drive in the mid-1920s by builder Charles Arensberg. He was one of many Capitol Hill builders who took advantage of the prosperity of the 1920s to build houses on speculation for the middle class. After the simplicity of the Craftsman style in the years before World War I, many builders and homebuyers preferred more detailed, exotic revival styles, especially Tudor-influenced designs like this one. It has a steep gabled roof, leaded casement windows, a gabled entry and a basement garage.
