While ads for the 1902 Columbia Terrace development touted that no two houses would be alike, this house is virtually identical to 826 - 14th Avenue. Owned by C. T. Smith and A. S. Kerry (Kerry Lumber Company) and designed by architects Robertson and Blackwell, Columbia Terrace is an eccentric collection of "romantic" cottages on 14th and 15th Avenues between Columbia and Marion. This house is an excellent, intact example of Craftsman and Chateauesque details applied to a traditional house form. It and its setting contribute to the historic streetscape.
