This house is significant for the information if offers about the development of vernacular architecture in South Park. It is a traditional 19th Century form treated with 20th Century Craftsman features. W.H.H. Ray acquired title to this property in May of 1921. (Wm. H. Ray, a millworker, lived at 1010 Director Street in 1922.   Appearance This unique vernacular dwelling seems to be in virtually original condition. It combines the late 19th Century pyramidal roof, square house form with early 20th Century bungalow features. The broad hipped, almost pyramidal, roof is slightly bell cast with flared, wide eaves. A small center entrance porch minus the roof line. It is supported by thin turned posts resting on battered masonry bases that are planted firmly on a pabed entrance way. The porch bases are the same height as the wooden shingle water table. The balance of the house is clapboard. The front door is a Vicotrina door, paneled with two arched lights. The brick chimney rises from the center of the roof.
