This house embodies the distinctive characteristics of a Mission Revival residence. It is a rare architectural style in this survey area. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of early 20th century architecture and residential development in Seattle. This house appears on the 1904-1905 Sanborn Map.
 
Appearance
This house is avant-guarde when compared to its more traditional Victorian and post Work War II neighbors. It is a simple interpretation of the Mission Revival style. Rectangular in mass, the roof is hipped with broad enclosed eaves. There is a Mission dormer on each elevation. The house is stucco on steel lathe. The full width front porch is inset behind segmented stucco segmental arches. It appears that one bay of the porch has been enclosed. Located on a dramatic site overlooking 19th Avenue, primary access to the house is from Pike Street, which comes to a dead end south of the house.
