This house is significant as one of South Park's oldest, intact dwellings. Prior to alteration of the Duwamish Rivers' course, this house was across Valley Road (Dallas Avenue) from and facing the river. It has the potential of yielding important information about South Park's early history.
William H. H. Ray acquired this property in 1920. Wm. Ray was a millworker according to City Directories and acquired several properties in South Park during the 1920s.

| Appearance |
| This is an unusually proportioned, two story vernacular dwelling. It has a steeply pitched cross gable roof with a one story porch wedged in the el. It has one over one double hung windows and is other wise very plain. Vinyl siding and applied Colonial [style] shutters detract from its integrity. Set at an odd angle very close to its 19th century neighbor and amidst old fruit trees and other plantings, this house and its setting contribute to our knowledge of late 19th century South Park. |
