This house is notable for its strong but simple Craftsman character and its leaded glass windows, including a spider patterned window on the front door. It was built by Fred L. Boyd, a salesman for W. P. Fuller Paint Company. The construction cost was $3,000, a fairly substantial sum for the time. Boyd and other members of his family built a number of houses in the vicinity, but he appears to have lived here for some time in 1906. Later owners included Henry Rosen, of the Victor Office Equipment Company, and his wife Helen (1930s-40s) and Gerald (operator of Melrose Lockers) and Lorraine Morse (1940s). The primary owners were John and Marilu Nilles, who purchased it in 1951 and lived here until 1992.

| This simple gable-front Craftsman house sits high above the street with a curving stairway and extensive rockery. It is two stories with a high attic space. The roof has wide eaves with knee brackets and extended rafters. The first floor is clad with clapboard, with stucco and half timbering above. There is no porch, but a shallow gable roof with decorative brackets over the stoop. The door is notable, being of oak with strap hinges and a large leaded glass window with a spider web pattern. The entry is flanked by large windows with a 24/1 configuration; the two windows on the second floor and those on the side elevations are 18/1 or 8/1. The north elevation has a shallow bay with brackets, a shed roof and five ten-light casement windows. The south has a secondary entry with a gabled roof and brackets. |
