Historic Name: Peerless Yeast/Electricians Inc. Common Name: Kelly's/Downtown Dog Lounge
Style: Commercial Neighborhood: Belltown
Built By: Year Built: 1925

Significance
This is a typical 1920s commercial building, similar to those found in every older Seattle commercial district. In 1937 the west section on 3rd Avenue housed the Northern Transfer Company office and Electricians Inc., an electrical contractor. The eastern section at 305 Bell, was the Peerless Yeast Company and Acme Beer Distributors. For many years it has had a variety of restaurants and lounges; the eastern section is now the Downtown Dog Lounge. The building is relatively intact. The original suspended canopy has been replaced by a modern awning, but the transom windows are intact below it. Three of the storefronts appear to be generally intact, but the southernmost one was altered some time ago. The brick bulkheads below the display windows have been covered with stucco. The eastern section retains its large display windows and multi-light transoms.
