This house is significant for its contribution to our understanding of vernacular architecture. Little is known of its history at this writing. Lela Sherman was owner at one time prior to 1937.
 
Appearance
This house is a valuable, intact local interpretation of the American Foursquare with Victorian embellishment. It is a two story house with a pyramidal roof and a large asymmetrical gabled dormer. The façade windows are multi-paned over one wooden sash and frame. A decorative fixed window is to the east of the front door. The front door has one large light. Fish scale shingles embellish the dormer white clapboard covers the rest of the house. It has a full width hipped roof porch supported by slender battered columns resting on paneled piers. There is no baluster. This house contributes to the historic streetscape.
