This is a good example of late 19th/early 20th century vernacular architecture. It contributes to our knowledge of the architectural and residential development of Seattle.

| Appearance |
| This is one of approximately five local interpretations of the Shingle style located on the west side of the 100 block of 23rd. It is essentially a variation of the one and 1/2 story gable front vernacular house type but is characterized by extensive shingle cladding, extremely shallow eaves, and eccentric gable treatments. This house has a full width shed porch supported by slender wooden columns.
Cross reference: 155 and 157 23rd Avenue. |
