This house embodies the distinctive characteristics of a Craftsman cottage. It is important because it enhances our knowledge of vernacular architecture and residential development in Seattle and because it and its setting contribute to the historic streetscape.
 
Appearance
This one and 1/2 story Craftsman cottage has a steeply pitched side gable roof with an overpowering hipped roof dormer. There are inset corner porches at the southwest and northeast corners and shallow bay windows on the southern and eastern facades. The second floor and the dormer are wood shingled; an interesting detail being the window treatment. The shingles curve inward to create slightly recessed window frames. The porch is supported by classical columns.
