Built By: Year Built: 1913

Significance
Located in what was once an important warehouse district in the former Seattle Tidelands area, this building originally served as the warehouse for the Sylvester Furniture Company. The tidelands were filled through a series of successive grading and fill projects between 1895 and 1929, creating developable land that made the expansion of railroad and port facilities possible and fostering the development of the area for commercial use that supported significant economic progress of the city in the early 20th century.

Although this building is associated with the development of the area as a transportation-related industrial and warehouse district, it has been significantly altered and the lacks physical integrity to be considered significant.

This building was determined not eligible for National Register listing by the Washington State SHPO (1996), due to significant alterations.

Appearance

This four-story building has been significantly altered.Extensive extensive alterations include the windows on the primary(west) elevation, which are large vinyl sash windows of five vertical panes in each of four symetrical bays which most likely replaced metal sash industrial type windows. A large penthouse with an upswept roof has also been added to the roof of the building.Storefronts appear to be significantly altered.
